Get out your running shoes and start preparing for the 17th annual City to the Sea point-to-point half marathon, which starts in America’s Happiest City – San Luis Obispo, CA, and ends in the beautiful coastal town of Pismo Beach. If you’ve never been to the area, the half marathon is one of the best ways to experience the beautiful downtown, backroads, and towns of SLO and Pismo.
If you’re a City to the Sea race veteran, we are so pleased you are returning to one of the Central Coast’s premiere races!
Run to Support a Great Cause – The Cuesta College Track & Field and Cross Country Teams
Since 1995, the City to the Sea half-marathon race has been organized to raise funds for the Cuesta College track and field and cross-country teams. The original event allowed Cuesta to build the Fairbanks Cross Country course, which is still enjoyed by both the teams and the surrounding communities.
The Cuesta College track and cross-country athletes are vibrant members of the San Luis Obispo community, and your race registration helps ensure that the athletes can continue training and racing in one of the California junior college system’s best programs. Learn more about the team here.
5 K and Kids’ Fun Run
The City to the Sea event is family-friendly, and we want everyone to participate. If 13.1 miles is not your preferred distance, you’ll love our much shorter 5k race (3.1 miles), which takes place in beautiful Pismo Beach. And don’t forget to sign up your kids and get them ready for the Kids’ Fun run (1/4 mile), which takes place at Dinosaur Caves Park, in Pismo Beach!
