We know some of our runners for the 2016 races are well-seasoned in the process of gearing up for race day, while others might be brand new! We wanted to put together some information that can help make race day all about the running.

Packet Pick Up Schedules


Saturday October 8th, 2016


11:30 am – 4:30pm

Race Day Schedules


Sunday October 9th, 2016

1/2 Marathon Runners


5:30 am – 6:30 am for Race Day Packet Pick-up

Meet at:

Union Bank Parking Lot, Court St & Higuera St.

Race Starts:


  • Must Be Finished Within Three Hours
  • NO Pets Allowed
  • NO Joggers/Strollers
  • NO Skates
  • NO Bikes

5k Runners


6:00am – 7:00am for Race Day Packet Pick-up

Meet at:

Dinosaur Caves Park, Shell Beach Rd.

Race Starts:


  • NO Pets Allowed
  • Joggers / Strollers Allowed (Please give right away to runners)
  • Must Be Finished Within One Hour

Kids Fun Run


6:00am – 7:00am for Race Day Packet Pick-up

Meet at:

Dinosaur Caves Park, Shell Beach Rd.

Race Starts:


All Runners

  • Pin Bib to FRONT of Shirt so it remains visible
  • Please adhere to CHP and monitoring volunteers directions
  • Please Adhere Chip to Shoe Before Starting Race
During Race:
  • Do NOT run through finish chute more than once. This causes inaccurate times and delays results
  • Stay to side of the road throughout the race and give others plenty of space to run, especially when making passes
  • Please be courteous to aid station volunteers- they are donating their time to make the race possible
  • Do NOT go back and run in with a friend if you’ve already gone through the chute. Again, this causes inaccurate times and delays results
  • After finishing head towards expo area,check out the band and enjoy a beer with family and friends!

Pismo Beach City Hall for 5k Runners
Between Dinosaur Caves Park & Shell Beach Elementary:

Safety Tips

  • Always stay within the cones
  • Listen to course marshals and volunteers
  • Stay to the right of road and move across when prompted
  • Always heed to CHP and SLO PD
  • Follow all traffic signs when posted
  • Stay hydrated

On Course

There will be five aid stations throughout the half marathon course. All will offer water, three will offer FLUID and there will be 6 restrooms located along the course.

Note that starting line restrooms tend to be in high demand, please prepare accordingly
