As Valentine’s Day nears, we’d love to offer you a sweet deal: Your last chance to save on Early Bird pricing for the 2015 City to the Sea half-marathon and 5k race on October 11th. If you register by Valentine’s Day, you could save up to $30 on the half-marathon pricing! (If you wait until the last-minute to register.) Reserve your spot early, and start formulating your training plan for October’s race.
The City to the Sea half-marathon course is one of the most scenic courses in California (well, let’s be honest – the whole U.S.). The course starts in downtown San Luis Obispo, America’s Happiest City, and meanders through back roads to gorgeous Pismo Beach. October weather in Pismo Beach is perfect for running – it’s in the 60s — and post-race, you can enjoy a cool dip in the ocean to refresh your tired legs. If you don’t live on the Central Coast, make sure you reserve a full weekend to stay in Pismo Beach or San Luis Obispo, and enjoy walks on the beach, wine tasting, and eating out at some of the finest restaurants in California.
Support Cuesta College athletic teams when you run the City to the Sea Race
The City to the Sea race started 20 years ago, with the goal of supporting Cuesta College running teams. Today, the race’s goal remains the same, and with your support through the years, the Cuesta College men’s cross-country team had their best finish yet this past year: The men’s team finished 6th in State, and Connor Fisher, one of the team’s standout runners, placed 3rd overall and recorded the best finish time in Cuesta men’s history!
When you run in the City to the Sea race, you’re helping to shape the running careers of promising athletes. All of the money raised goes directly to the team, supplementing their travel costs, training supplies, and coaching support.
