Since 1995, City to the Sea has been the premier fundraiser for the Cuesta College Track and Field and Cross Country teams. The mission of City to the Sea is to provide a top-quality, positive, family-friendly event that helps promote a healthy, active lifestyle on the Central Coast. In addition, City to the Sea aims to raise sufficient monies to build a grandstand on the Cuesta College track & field facility, an approximate $300,000 undertaking. This facility serves not only the track & field program, but hosts the annual High School County Meet, the Regional Special Olympics, as well as other special events throughout the year.
The young men and women of Cuesta College Track and Field and Cross Country are vibrant members of the Central Coast community. In addition to being dedicated athletes and students, Cuesta runners serve the Central Coast community by volunteering their time at community events including the Special Olympics, local high school track meets, Prado Day Center homeless feeding programs, and the Castle to the Coast Fun Run.
